Feasibility studies needed:
1. Capture vehicle structure. Analyze structural design options for a hexagonal-prismatic vehicle using sustainable or recycled materials, comparing to industry-standard aerospace materials.
2. Propulsion. Evaluate propulsion options for maneuvering within LEO, including from launch to debris and from dock to target, using sustainable propellants.
3. Orbital debris capture, modeling, and simulation. Create models of orbital debris density and simulate rendezvous, approach, and capture profiles in target orbital planes.
4. Software capabilities. Evaluate onboard and ground software needs for processing, guidance, and control with power and weight considerations.
5. Capture technology. Compare nets, magnets, bumpers, and grapples for debris arrest and retention, including hybrid use scenarios. Evaluate and model cooperative capabilities.
6. Navigation systems. Identify commercially available or upcycled navigation hardware suitable for autonomous capture and return missions.
